The Near East University Hospital Newborn Intensive Care Unit provides health services with the aim of preparing a good beginning for our most valuable beings, providing them with the support they need and reuniting them with their families in the quickest possible time frame.

The care of premature babies is provided using the latest technologies, techniques and world-renowned treatment methods and the latest ventilators at the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, where our Newborn Intensive Care specialist doctors are available 24//7. Additionally, the process of cooling down the whole bodies of babies who do not get enough oxygen after a difficult birth is conducted to ensure minimum harm to the baby. In serious cases, babies are individually monitored for a 24-hour period by the health team consisting of educated nurses and newborn specialist doctors.

The necessary solutions are found for the babies’ problems by the consultation support group consisting of specialists from child immunology, neurology, endocrinology, nephrology, cardiology, chest diseases, child surgery and brain surgery, paediatric ophthalmology and orthopaedics.

In cases where newborn babies need to be treated in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, they can be transferred from other health associations to our unit. The transport service is available 24/7.

Full Body Cooling
Babies that have gone through a difficult birth or do not get enough oxygen for some time are cooled down at our Newborn Intensive Care Unit in order to reduce any possible damage caused by the lack of oxygen. This procedure can be used in the first 6 to 12 hours for babies who have been born after 34-36 weeks of pregnancy and who do not get enough oxygen at birth. The long-term development of babies treated with this method is reported to be better.
